Vira Lozinsky and the "Quartet of Emil
Aybinder" won the Grand Prize in the 2012
International Jewish Music Competition in
Amsterdam .
Chairman of the jury Jules van Hessen: 'How often
during one's life does one hear a concert in which all
the threads of a musical tradition seem to magically
come together and fall in place to recreate the past
in its full glory? This is what the members of the jury
felt - with great emotion - when Vira Lozinsky started
her recital.'
In addition to the Grand Prize, Vira Lozinsky won the
Mira Rafalowicz Prize for the best performance of
Yiddish song and was also offered a record contract
by Putumayo World Music .
